Evolution of a BMW

Back in 1984 I bought a used 1976 BMW R90/6 with just a few thousand miles on it.  Over the years it evolved into the motorcycle I wanted at the time.

February 1984 - As purchased with Luftmeister fairing, Wixom bags, Reynolds luggage rack, stock crash bars, stock seat

May 1984 - Bikes's first tour - added Krauser 40 Liter Star bags

May 1985 - Repaired after unplanned highside - fairing and trunk painted, custom seat added

June 1989 - Lightened and simplied - windscreen, no trunk, no crash bars, fabricated a back rest

June 1992 - Upgraded to the BMW Touring cases

June 1996 - Full frontal nudity - no windscreen, added S bars and bar end mirrors

August 1996 - Added small windscreen

March 1997 - Fashioned a solo seat from the old one, added a rack I found in the salvage yard

July 2004 - A new incarnation - new (to me) 1975 engine and matching frame, reassembled, painted, added new windscreen

August 2004 - Adapted old Reynolds rack for solo seat, added old BMW Touring cases
